Options to consider during testing

  • Change product orientation so the film and seal do not pull directly across the sharpest feature.
  • Review a film grade and thickness selected for the real geometry, not only the nominal pack size.
  • Use a tray, board, corner protector or other approved support where the product needs a stable outer envelope.
  • Check perforation and trapped-air release around open or recessed areas.
  • Compare L-sealing with sleeve, flow, bag or non-shrink routes when the product cannot tolerate the required film tension or heat.

Why do sharp corners puncture shrink film?
