Lancing UK shrink wrapping machinery

Shrink tunnel machine specification

Heat tunnels matched to the sealer, film type, aperture, conveyor speed and pack presentation required.

Tunnel sizing

Why tunnel size matters

The shrink tunnel must be large enough for the product and film but not so oversized that heat control becomes inefficient. Aperture height, tunnel length, conveyor width and airflow pattern all influence the final finish.

Line speed

Output depends on dwell time

Higher pack speed requires enough heated tunnel length to give the film time to shrink correctly. If the conveyor runs too quickly through a short tunnel, the film may not recover evenly. If heat is too aggressive, the film can distort or burn.

Compatibility

Match tunnel to film and sealer

  • POF film for presentation cartons and retail packs.
  • PE film for heavier grouped packs.
  • Correct aperture for tallest product plus film movement.
  • Conveyor height matched to infeed and outfeed equipment.

Quick answers

Shrink tunnel machine specification FAQs

Can a shrink tunnel be used with an L sealer?

Yes. Automatic L-sealers normally discharge into a shrink tunnel to create the finished shrink-wrapped pack.

What information is needed to size a shrink tunnel?

Product dimensions, film type, output target, pack weight and required finished appearance are the main details.

Can you supply tunnel-only equipment?

Yes, tunnel-only requirements can be reviewed if it needs to integrate with existing equipment.
